UT alumnus Michael Litt organized the enormous event at Scoot Inn on Austin's East Side. The festivities included vegan firefighters, a hot dog king and numerous people willing to stuff themselves in front of a large crowd.
UT journalism senior Colin Kalmbacher was champion of the individual contest, scarfing down 16 veggie dogs in 12 minutes. The event was catered by South Carolina native Sonny "The Hot Dog King."
"Judging by the size of the crowd, this is going to be annual," he said.
