Reports allege football player involved in West Campus crash
Reports from the Austin-American Statesman and KEYE News claim that a UT football player allegedly crashed into an apartment complex in West Campus last week. The Austin Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
Senior Austin Police Officer Dennis Farris said the department could not confirm whether UT defensive end Sergio Kindle drove his car into the Jefferson West apartment complex on Rio Grande Street. Investigators are working to close an ongoing investigation that involves a car crashing into a West Campus apartment, Farris said.
“We are not releasing names,” Farris said. “I don’t know for a fact that was him.”
Farris said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene and investigators have not filed any charges.
Farris said APD has not concluded the investigation.

Brothers suspected in Spiros shooting have court date reset
Brothers Brandon Bruce and LaBaaron Demon Hutchison made their first appearance in court Friday after allegedly shooting eight people outside Spiros nightclub.
No one was killed in the shooting.
In two separate statements, both brothers said they were still trying to hire an attorney. Their court date has been reset for July 15.
They each face eight accounts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The brothers turned themselves in on Friday, May 29 to La Grange police hours after a fight between LaBaaron Hutchison and the club’s rap promoter Ramon Stewart prompted the shooting.
The brothers belonged to a rap group, called “LG Allstarz,” that was booked to perform at Spiros that night, and were asked to leave the club after the fight was settled. At closing time, the brothers came back with handguns and opened fire on club patrons as they left.
