Men's Basketball: No. 8 Texas 63, No. 2 UCLA 61 How many times can you say you beat the No. 2 team on the road? Not very many. The men's basketball team was the only one of Texas' major men's sports teams to beat a top ten opponent. Plus, this exciting game established Texas' rise as a legitimate contender this season. Baseball: Texas 15, Kansas State 7 - Big 12 Championship Game

At least Texas can say they won the Big 12 championship in some big sport this year. While prospects may have looked bleak in the middle of Big 12 play, Texas' run after losing the first game of the Big 12 tournament was remarkable. Winning the Big 12 championship was a nice triumph in yet another season where the team did not make it past the regional round. Football: No. 14 Texas 38, Oklahoma State 35 On the road trailing by 21, entering the fourth quarter 35-14, things didn't look good for Texas. What seemed doomed to be a disappointing loss turned in to a jubilant victory. Junior Ryan Bailey booted a 40-yard field goal as time expired to secure the victory for Texas. Jamaal Charles scored two of his three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Men's Basketball: No. 5 Texas 72, No. 3 Kansas 69 At home, sophomore D.J. Augustin was the closer down the stretch as Texas knocked off the No. 3 team in the country in a pivotal conference game against the eventual national champion. Sophomore Damion James had 13 rebounds to help Texas to victory. Mario Chalmers' desperate 3-point shot bounced off the rim to send the crowd into celebration. Volleyball: No. 5 Texas 3, No. 1 Nebraska 0 In front of a record crowd at Gregory Gym, Texas avenged an earlier loss to Nebraska by sweeping the No. 1 team. Sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker had 17 kills. The win put Texas in a tie for first place in the Big 12 and the Longhorns would go on to claim a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Men's Tennis: No. 7 Texas 4, No. 3 UCLA 2 - NCAA Championship Semifinal

What is tennis doing so high up? Well, how many other Texas sports went to the championship game? You don't need to do much research to find that out. Soccer: No. 6 Texas 3, No. 2 Texas A&M 2 - NCAA Tournament, second round

This win put Texas into the third round of the NCAA soccer tournament. Making it even better is the fact that it was over the archrival Aggies on their own home field. Men's Swimming: Team wins Big 12 Championship Light the tower orange. The second-ranked Longhorns swept every event in the conference meet and added two records. Eddie Reese won the honor of swimming coach of the meet, and Matt Scoggin took honors for top diving coach. Junior Ricky Berens broke the meet record in the 200-meter butterfly event, finishing in 1:43.64. Women's Basketball: Texas 61, No. 8 Baylor 51 Needing a win to keep their NCAA tournament hopes alive, Texas knocked off Baylor in front of a season-high crowd on 'Think Pink' night. Texas got a significant win in a game that was very important - not just for their record, but for breast cancer awareness.
