The Big 12 Conference named Texas senior Ashley Rollins the Women's Golfer of the Month last week.

The honor is the first to be bestowed upon a Texas player since Kelley Louth in November 2006. Rollins finished the Central District Invitational in February with an individual tie for third place to lead Texas to a fifth-place finish. She has been the top Texas finisher in all six of its tournaments this season.

Rollins leads Texas into the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational today through Wednesday at The University of Texas Golf Club. The tournament opens with Texas teeing off at 8:15 a.m. today.

Texas is coming off a long break after finishing 13th at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational 19 days ago. In that tournament, Texas battled high winds to finish just a few strokes shy of a second consecutive top-10 finish. The finish moved the Longhorns a couple of spots higher in the Golfweek rankings to 30th.

Texas fared well at the home tournament last year, finishing with a fifth-place tie. The favored team in the tournament is the ninth-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks, who are coming off a 12th-place finish at the UCF Invitational in Sonnoma, Fla.

The 17-team field features seven other Big 12 schools - Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma and Nebraska.
