Jerritt Elliott’s Texas volleyball team achieved what he, and his players, had long coveted: a national championship. And with that accomplishment comes a burnt orange check.
In 1984, Texas swept Oregon in Berkeley, California, to continue on and win the AIAW Championship. Four years later, the Longhorns would become national champions.
The Longhorns earned a spot in Saturday evening’s National Championship match by defeating Michigan 3-2 Thursday night at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
