The state Senate Committee on Criminal Justice on Tuesday heard testimony from supporters and opponents of SB 354, a bill which would allow concealed handgun license holders to carry concealed handguns inside buildings of Texas public universities, including UT.
Establishing these custom-crafted metrics would do little besides facilitate an academic witch hunt so that policy decisions could be justified with manipulated or manufactured data.
Putting a face to budget cuts, particularly those threatening financial aid and quality of education, reminds legislators that their decisions directly affect students and can reduce the accessibility of higher education in the state.
