While some students are passionate about sports or student government, Olivia Debeck, radio-television-film senior; Matt Hill, theatre and dance sophomore; and math senior Logan Healey share a passion for theater.
Through the Cohen New Works Festival, presented by the UT University Co-op, students are given the opportunity to use theater as an agent for social change.
“This is a play about a journey towards your true nature. It is about crashing into people who are not like you and what you learn from them,” Davis said.
Ballet Austin’s performance of “The Taming of the Shrew” proves that ballet is not always pompous and prissy but can be teasing, funny and a far cry from the overworked dramatics of the average ballet.
