Former Longhorn Jordan Spieth won a three person playoff to win the PGA Tour John Deere Classic Sunday evening. With the win, at 19-years old, Spieth is the youngest player in 80 years to win on the PGA Tour.

In preparation for its title defense, the defending national champion Longhorns volleyball team is not taking any time off this summer. The Longhorns embarked on a trip to Europe that spanned two weeks and four countries this summer. The trip, which the NCAA permits once every four years, gave the Longhorns the opportunity to play against the top competition in Europe.
The first two days of the Phillips 66 National Championships and World Trials in Indianapolis have been fruitful for both current and former Longhorns alike. The ultimate goal of the World Trials is to qualify for the 2013 FINA World Championships which are to be held in Barcelona, Spain from July 19 to August 4.
Members of both the women’s and men’s track and field teams competed in the 2013 USA Outdoor Championships last week with athletes participating in championship finals, while senior Danielle Dowie competed in the Jamaican national championships.
