Texas concluded the indoor regular season this past weekend with strong performances at the Aggie Twilight in College Station and the JDL DMR Invitational in Winston-Salem. But the Longhorns’ showings were stepping stones en route to greater goals.
After a lack of focus cost the Longhorns in their first matchup against the Cowboys in January, it was that infusion of energy from Mitrou-Long and Hamm that the Longhorns needed against the Cowboys in their 69-57 victory Saturday.
On Saturday morning, in the first close game of the year for the Texas, the Longhorns came through in the clutch, defeating No. 18 Kentucky on a walk-off RBI single from first baseman Kaitlyn Washington.
