In addition to the anticipated return of shows like “Modern Family” and “Dexter,” this fall television season has two highly noteworthy series premieres.
In the famed rapper’s third film “Takers,” in theaters today, T.I. plays Ghost, a fresh-out-of-jail bank robber who returns back to his unassailable band of thieves, only to find that he’s been ousted from the group. In his attempt to regain their trust, he offers them a high earning mission to hijack two armored trucks, a job that can either ruin them or pay off big.
“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” follows the life of 22-year-old Toronto native Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera, “Superbad”) as he falls for American delivery girl Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, “Live Free or Die Hard”).
Director and “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy has taken a break from choir and show tunes for a journey of self-discovery. “Eat Pray Love” is based on the memoir of the same name by Elizabeth Gilbert that depicts her travels and the personal revelations that come with them.
This summer’s movie season has been filled with mediocrity, from “Iron Man 2” to “Sex and the City 2,” but “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” brings something new to the table.
