The Ronald McDonald House will kick off the holiday season Dec. 5 with food, fun and entertainment. The event offers an opportunity for the Austin community to support the local charity and enjoy holiday festivities.

The event, which started 19 years ago, is now moving to the Browning Hangar at the Mueller development because of the growing number of participants. The charity event will feature the Biscuit Brothers, the Westlake Madrigal Singers, a jazz workshop, an art tent for children and refreshments.

“Lights of Love provides a simple and friendly way to support the Ronald McDonald House and kick off the holiday season,” said event coordinator Missy Strittmatter. “The event also helps raise money needed for the families to stay at the house.”

This year, the event will also host a 5K run. Along the route, runners will be greeted by carolers and provided with hot chocolate. Event attendees can also buy a light in honor or memory of someone and drop off gifts for Blue Santa.
