Erin Curtis : Perspective Threshold

When: Today, 6 p.m.
Where: Women and Their Work, 1710 Lavaca St.
Tickets: Free, donations accepted
Austin-based artist Erin Curtis depicts man-made structures hauntingly dominated by nature, patterns and colors in her artwork. Her solo exhibition will feature paintings, drawings and sculptures that play with space and perspective.

 

Lebowski Fest

When: Friday, 7 p.m.
Where: Stubb’s, 801 Red River St.
Tickets: $20

Tickets: $25 advanced, $30 day of
‘The Big Lebowski’ was a Coen brothers’ 1998 box office failure. But, the movie gathered a cult following that has culminated into The Lebowski Fest. Fans of the film, known as “Achievers,” come dressed as The Dude to commemorate the film with a screening and concert by local jazz group White Ghost Shivers on Friday, followed by a night of bowling Saturday.

 

Wavves

When: Saturday, 10 p.m.
Where: Emo’s, 603 Red River St.
Tickets: $12
Californian duo Wavves will bring their lo-fi punk act to Austin before they finish their national tour and head overseas. Dance along to their poppy beats alongside The Soft Pack and Ganglians.

 

Sam Dahl : Reveal Thy Self 

When: Saturday, 7 p.m.
Where: Co-Lab, 613 Allen St.
Tickets: Free
Sam Dahl’s inspiration for her collaborative installation at the Co-Lab came from her desire to not distort other people’s possessions in her paintings with her artistic view. In an effort to preserve the original intent of these objects and allow surveyors to peruse with clarified judgment, Dahl had no influence on how they were arranged. 

 

Ghostface Killah

When: Sunday, 10 p.m.
Where: Emo’s, 603 Red River St.
Tickets: $25
Original member of the Wu-Tang Clan Ghostface Killah (born Dennis Coles) will lay down his rough rhymes in Austin. He joins California hip-hop artist Fashawn, who is experiencing the taste of success at the bright-eyed age of 20.
