Spring has passed, and this means television stations have very little quality programming. Besides the occasional sports thrillers like Wimbledon or EuroCup,

there is not much to look forward to. But of course, the airwaves have to be filled with something. Enter reality shows.

"Wipeout," a new reality game show on ABC, features contestants trying to complete the "world's largest obstacle course." A series of hoops, balls and platforms with various tricks, the course is specifically designed to cause the most falls, crashes and wipeouts, so that the viewer will (hopefully) laugh.

Going with a bunch of friends to this course in the summer heat and having a day to run and splash around sounds fun. Sitting with a bunch of friends and watching other people do it on television sounds depressing.

Not all television is terrible over the summer, though. FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance" displays mind-blowing dance talent, while NBC's "Last Comic Standing" presents hilarious routines. These shows have some talented people.

Of course, "Wipeout" has some competition for "worst summer drivel." NBC is airing "Celebrity Circus," where six people you have never heard of do circus stunts for a few weeks. E! has "Living Lohan," where you can watch Lindsay Lohan's mother walk around her house. How exciting.

Instead of watching these shows, you might want to just go to a water park or buy tickets to a real circus.
