Britney watch

I know last week I talked about "How I Met Your Mother," but I felt it warranted another mention since in last night's episode "Ten Sessions," Britney Spears played a ditzy receptionist. I feared watching the episode since I was sure that she would ruin one of my favorite shows. To my surprise, she was pretty harmless. She said her lines right, managed not to drop a child and her vagina was nowhere in sight. It also helped that the episode was clever (mustache bets and shrimp cocktails) and cute (Ted's two-minute date with guest star Sarah Chalke). For the first time in a long time, I actually watched something that featured Britney Spears willingly and wasn't an episode of "The Soup."

It's all Greek to me

A show that slowly turned from time killer to weekly obsession last summer is ABC Family's "Greek." Sure, it's not really anything like college but, hey, "Dawson's Creek" didn't really capture the true high school experience either. What "Greek" does provide is some good jokes, innovative frat parties (this week a Kama Sutra Social was mentioned) and a nice diversion from the real hassles of college exams and papers. I have one question, though, after watching this week's season premiere: How much sex really happens in libraries? I've never been one to really frequent the PCL too often, but I rarely find young co-eds loving up on one another in the Russian Lit section. Now if the show could only get rid of all of the Plain White T's performances, everything would be perfect.

What is Hulu?

After hearing a bit about it online and through an article in this week's Entertainment Weekly, I decided to check out Hulu.com. Turns out it's a Web site headed up by NBC/Universal and 20th Century Fox to stream TV and films. In fact, as I'm writing this article, I'm enjoying an episode of "Arrested Development." The quality is much higher than other alternatives such as surfthechannel.com and the site offers a wide array of programming from TV shows like "Remington Steele" to films as awesome as "Point Break" and obscure as "The Extreme Adventures of Super Dave."
