Listed here are the positions available throughout The Daily Texan. To be hired at the Texan, you must be academically eligible and you must also clear a background check. In order to get paid, you must sign a copy of your job description, which will be available from the managing editor. If you are not currently in the UT payroll system, you must also fill out a payroll packet available from the Business Office upstairs. Two types of identification are needed: an ID that establishes your identity, such as a Social Security card, birth certificate or US citizen ID card. A US passport or Certificate of Naturalization meets both of these requirements. A school ID, including UT, is not acceptable. If you would like your check automatically deposited in your bank account, make sure to bring a copy of either a canceled check or deposit slip from your bank account.
