Vintage Poster Weekend

Art on 5th is once again hosting their three-day event dedicated solely to vintage posters. Peruse the one-of-a-kind pieces from the 1900s to 1970s that have been preserved to museum standards and are ready to be purchased.

When: Friday-Saturday, 10 a.m.; Sunday, noon
Where: Art on 5th, 1501 W. Fifth St.
Tickets: Free

The Subjects

The Subjects’ MySpace mockingly claims that they are “Like Nickelback but less ballsy.” Thankfully, this Brooklyn based prog-rock band is more dynamic than the aforementioned group in all aspects. Move to their harmonic vocals and clap-along sound alongside Bad Veins and MoTel Aviv.

When: Friday, 10 p.m.
Where: Emo’s, 603 Red River St.
Tickets: $10

Grit n’ Glamour Hair and Fashion Show

Grit n’ Glamour is where pet-friendly fashion and local style collide. Enjoy a night on a catwalk filled with cutting-edge fashion and hair to benefit Austin Pets Alive, a nonprofit working to make Austin a no-kill city.

When: Saturday, 8 p.m.
Where: The Belmont, 305 W. Sixth St.
Tickets: $5 pre-show, $7 door

Fun Fun Fun Fest Scavenger Hunt

Scour the city for a list of 50 items to win weekend prizes, gift cards and more for Fun Fun Fun Fest. The cans of food required for admission and the items collected at the hunt will be donated to Caritas of Austin, a nonprofit that offers food service and social service programs for refugees.

When: Saturday, 6 p.m.
Where: Begins at Red 7, 611 7th St., ends at the Waterloo Park parking lot, 12th and Red River
Tickets: Five cans of food to benefit Caritas Austin

Art Brut and Princeton

Free-flowing, four-person pop band Princeton lives up to greater ambitions than expected with a wide range of instruments, complete and head-bobbing-worthy rhythms. Equally dance-provoking London band Art Brut will be adding a pop-punk appeal to the stage.

When: Sunday, 7 p.m.
Where: The Mohawk, 912 Red River St.
Tickets: $12 advance, $14 door

Built to spill and Dinosaur Jr.

Mellow bands Built to Spill and Dinosaur have worked on their mellow sounds for more than a decade. They join Lour Narlow, The Missing Men and Disco Doom at Stubb’s for a night of simple jams.

When: Saturday, 7 p.m.
Where: Stubb’s, 801 Red River St.
Tickets: $25
