The Longhorns have picked up another late addition to their 2016 recruiting class. Four-star guard Patrick Hudson signed his scholarship papers at Texas on Wednesday, according to ESPN.
He chose the Longhorns after being released from his scholarship at Baylor following head coach Art Briles’ firing. Briles’ contract was terminated in the wake of several sexual allegations against the school’s football players. Hudson becomes the fourth Baylor-signee to commit to Texas this summer.
Hudson ranks as the No. 2 guard and No. 50 overall player in the nation, according to 247sports. He earned All-American honors while playing at Silsbee High School. His 6-foot-5, 325-pound frame brings even more bulk to Texas’ class, which now has eleven 300-pound freshman.
The Longhorns’ 2016 class now ranks No. 7 in the 247sports composite. It has jumped four spots since February’s National Signing Day.
