The Longhorns made the transfer of forward Mariek Isom official on Monday. Isom, a graduate transfer from The University of Arkansas–Little Rock is eligible to play next season.

“We’re very pleased to add Mo to our basketball program,” head coach Shaka Smart said in a statement. “He is a high-character person who understands what goes into winning and will add significant outside shooting ability to our team.”

Isom signed an athletic scholarship agreement and will take graduate-level classes this summer. The 6-foot-9-inch forward earned his bachelor’s degree from UALR last December. He averaged 5.9 points and 2.7 rebounds in 34 games for the Trojans last season.

Isom rounds out a six-man recruiting class for the Longhorns. He joins fellow transfer forward Dylan Osetkowski and freshmen Jarrett Allen, James Banks, Andrew Jones and Jacob Young.
