• Texas holding three open practices next week *Time Update*

    Texas head coach Mack Brown announced Thursday that the Longhorns would be holding three practices next week that would be open to the public.

    The practices will be held at Denius Fields on Red River on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 6:30 p.m.; Friday, Aug. 9 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. Parking is available in Manor Garage across Robert Dedman from the stadium.

    Offensive and defensive linemen and specialists will be available for autographs after practices on Thursday. On Friday, running backs, linebackers and tight ends will be available. Quarterbacks, wide recievers and defensive backs will be available Saturday.

    Practices will be hosted in the bubble next to Denius Fields in case of bad weather - all practices in the bubble are closed due to limited space.

  • Texas ranked No. 15 in Pre-season USA Today Coaches' Poll

    Texas football premiered at No. 15 in the pre-season USA Today Coaches' Poll that was released Thursday morning.

    Alabama, the reigning national champion, was ranked at No.1 followed by Ohio State at No. 2. Texas is the second ranked team in the Big 12, following Oklahoma State at No. 14. Oklahoma (16) and TCU (20) were the two other Big 12 teams ranked in the top 25. Kansas State (26) and Baylor (29) also received votes. 

    Texas ended the 2012 season ranked at No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll.
