Former Longhorn track star Sanya Richards-Ross is out to prove she is more than just athletics; she is a jack (or in this case, Jill) of all trades. “I don’t want to only be known as Sanya the track star,” Richards-Ross states at the very beginning of the first episode of her new reality show. “I want to be a fashionista, business owner...you name it, I want to do it.”

For Longhorn Ioannis Papapetrou, basketball never stops. The 6'8 sophomore forward is spending his summer overseas, playing in the Under-20 European Championships as a representative for his home country of Greece.

The first two days of the Phillips 66 National Championships and World Trials in Indianapolis have been fruitful for both current and former Longhorns alike. The ultimate goal of the World Trials is to qualify for the 2013 FINA World Championships which are to be held in Barcelona, Spain from July 19 to August 4.
Myck Kabongo only Longhorn in 2013 NBA Draft

Myck Kabongo will be the only Longhorn looking to be selected in this year's NBA draft. The 6' 3" point guard from Toronto, who will be 21 years old on draft night, was suspended back in December for accepting impermisible benefits and missed Texas' first 23 games of the season. After the suspension, he returned in led the Longhorns through their 11 remaining games of the season including a career performance against Oklahoma, scoring 31 points with 28 of them coming in the second half and in overtime.
Men's Track and Field Head Coach Bubba Thornton retires

The athletics department announced June 17 that Bubba Thornton, Texas' men's track and field head coach, will not be reprising his position next year, as he and men's athletics director DeLoss Dodds reached a mutual agreement to terminate the last year of his contract.

After the San Antonio Spurs let Game 6 slip from their grasp Tuesday night, the Miami Heat tied up the series 3-3 heading into Game 7. The superstars dug deep and delivered, with the Miami Heat winning their second World Championship 95-88 for back-to-back years on their home floor of the American Airlines Center.

In keeping with the tradition of this series, Game 5 of the NBA Finals was all about a team trying to make a comeback. After trading wins with the Miami Heat in the first four games, the San Antonio Spurs survived a late-game push by the Heat to pull out an impressive 114-104 victory Sunday night in their last contest at home for the season.

In what turned out to be only the second (reasonably) close game in this series so far, Game 4 of the NBA Finals became one of revenge for the Miami Heat. After suffering the third worst loss in Finals history (113-77) in Game 3, Miami righted the ship and beat the Spurs soundly Thursday evening, handing them a 109-93 defeat on their home floor in San Antonio.

In a bizarre reversal of Sunday’s Game 2, Game 3 of the NBA Finals featured a massive San Antonio blowout of the Miami Heat at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, with help for the Spurs coming from some rather unexpected places. The Spurs took down the Heat 113-77 Tuesday night, the third largest margin of victory in NBA Finals history.
