Eaton, a journalism senior from Houston, worked at The Daily Texan from January to December 2010 and served as the paper's UT System/Administration reporter. In his time at the Texan, he covered university budget cuts and other issues that affect UT. His favorite stories were about research commercialization, UT's capital campaign, salary databases, the Board of Regents expense reports, UTIMCO investments and Fisher v. Texas. Clearly, Eaton hates himself. At the Texan, the System/Admin beat covers issues that affect UT staff and faculty, significant events on other UT system campuses and how the UT administration, such as the admissions office, functions. Eaton says he learned essential lessons about reporting from his editors, co-workers and the Texan archives. He lives in Austin and, in March, got hitched.
