The Texas football program has had its fair share of transfers, but recently with increasing restrictions by high-profile universities across the country, the rules regarding transfers have been thrust into the spotlight.

Members of both the women’s and men’s track and field teams competed in the 2013 USA Outdoor Championships last week with athletes participating in championship finals, while senior Danielle Dowie competed in the Jamaican national championships.

After a mishap at the 2011 NCAA Championships that dislocated her right elbow, diver Maren Taylor opted to redshirt what would have been her third year, the 2011-12 season, to heal. Now, she has recovered, is back on the board and headed to Spain to compete in the FINA World Championships.

Texas will be represented by 10 individual swimmers, two divers and five relay teams.

Both of Texas’ swimming and diving teams took home the team Big 12 championship Saturday after four days of competition. It is the men’s 17th Big 12 title and the women’s 11th.  

The Longhorns return to Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on Wednesday as host of the 2013 Big 12 Championships, looking to bring home their 11th Big 12 team title.
