Just a week after journeying to Houston for the Rice Invitational, Texas women’s tennis will be back in action today at the ITA All-American Championships.

Senior Breaunna Addison, ranked 48th in ITA women’s singles, was the only Longhorn to make the trip to Los Angeles.

The tournament is one of three national championship events for the season. Addison will begin competition in the qualifying singles draw Tuesday against Georgia Tech’s Paige Hourigan.

With new head coach Howard Joffe and still no stadium to call home, Longhorn fans feared this season carried too many question marks to guarantee the program’s usual level of success. Despite the hardships facing the team, Addison and Dani Wagland captured victory in the main doubles draw in Houston with a 6-1 performance against Rice’s Lindsey Hodge and Alison Ho. Addison was scheduled to play in the final of the women’s singles draw, but the match was rained out.

Senior Lana Groenvynck and junior Neda Koprcina advanced to the doubles consolation final but lost 6-2.
