Austin police found the body of a St. Edward's student Wednesday morning in a residence at 2200 Rio Grande St.

Police found Jason Leonard, 20, dead this morning at a house at 2200 Rio Grande St. in West Campus, said friend Monty Pierce, 19. He was a sophomore at St. Edward's University, according to the St. Edward's University registrar's office. Cause of death is pending a toxicology report from the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office. A friend of Leonard's reported his death at 8:15 this morning. Friends reported seeing Leonad early Wednesday, around 3 a.m., and said he was not on his way home. Julia Christopher, a UT Spanish sophomore, said it was her house where the body was found. "He always went out of his way to make you feel good about yourself," Christopher said. "He was always joking around. We hung out pretty much every weekend." A group of 20 of Leonard's friends gathered at a friend's house to remember him Wednesday afternoon, said friend Adam Dyer, a UT architecture freshman.
